I thought he made the other 3 candidates look completely out of their depth the other night on the BBC debate. He was calm, articulate and well reasoned. Yvette Cooper was the only one that challenged him at all. Burnham might as well be running for his deputy leader.
I like him. He'd never become Prime Minister though.

I actually quite like the idea of having major philosophical differences between the two main parties rather than Tories and Tories-lite.
Surely no one is enthused by the idea of Mrs Balls or Andy Mascara leading the Labour Party?

Love him because Thatchers selfish spawn don't.
The sheckle counters of the right don't like people showing consideration of those less well off, they might not have so many coins to hoard and spend their days counting.

I detest labour but then it's been a long since they had someone who really stands up for their traditional values rather than the snide cunts they have now. He's a genuine politician doing it for the right reasons.
He would also be unelectable, and labour would hopefully go the way of the lib dens.

That's exactly the sort of "Us and Them" attitude that the press will latch on to, to ensure he'll never get in.

Yes and would easily vote for him over the Eton elite that the electorate have been brainwashed into thinking that only they and their ilk could possibly run this country.

I think he is just asking the question as to whether the way the country is currently run is to the benefit of the vast majority of its inhabitants. That appears to be a very uncomfortable question for some people and makes him a dangerous radical.

I met him once, while waiting for a mate who was developing an old building in Blackstock Road, it was pissing down so I sheltered in the doorway of his constituency office.
He came along, as equally as wet as I was and asked if I wanted to come in and have a tea.
My mate turned up a few seconds later so I declined. He seemed like a thoroughly decent bloke.
I certainly don’t agree with everything he says but he seems like a man of principle and conviction who won’t change his mind to suit anyone.
And for those, like me, who normally lean towards the Conservatives, he isn’t unelectable as we think. He resonates with the young. The Law of Unintended Consequences to play out yet.

I wrote him off originally as a Putin apologist, but apparently he isn't? Either way, I suspect he's more electable than people think.
10 years ago the idea of the US electing someone like Bernie Sanders would have been beyond laughable. Now he's putting up a decent challenge to Hillary and he's a dead heat with the Republicans in the polls.
The era of 80s market fundamentalism is over. Younger voters are looking at other options.

I don't dislike him. It's good for the Labour Party that Corbyn is one of the four standing for leadership too because the other three are too much alike policy wise. It takes a Corbyn to tease out the differences between the other three.
I know that A8 goes on about evil Tories etc. but we can all see that in fact vilification by the media is almost totally in the other political direction. If Corbyn becomes leader the printed media especially will have a field day with Corbyn and no exaggeration of his views will be too overblown.
For a lot of us our leanings are somewhere between Corbyn and the other three candidates who are in the Blair/Cameron part of the spectrum. As to whether I would vote for him I would say yes if he stood in my constituency. I could not support a government consisting of a Cabinet of Corbyns though.
Btw there is only one of the four Labour leadership candidates who went to public school. it's the one who did not get a Degree.

I think his appeal, ironically, is like that of Farage. He doesn't LOOK like a politician, in the modern sense.
I think people are pretty disengaged in politics these days and maybe more people that actually look like real people is a good thing. Tony 'Fucking' Blair was the cunt who started all that bollocks and the fact that he hates this is probably the greatest endorsement Corbyn could have.
Plus I agree, most of the printed media is Tory centric and they will have a field day.
The only way Corbyn would get anywhere near power would be a massive economic collapse which will always send people scurrying to the polar ends, having said that I don't really know how 'left-wing' he really is? To be fair I think the old ring wing/left wing stereotypes don't apply anymore, it's more of a pro europe/anti europe positions that seem to mean more these days.

I like him.
I would vote for him as the alternative is Cameron.
I suspect he's not as left wing as people think - however, many of his supporters are mentalists and I doubt he has the strength to keep them out of the Party as Kinnock did many years ago in order to make the Labour Party electable again.
For that reason, his election as Labour Leader will destroy the Party for another decade.

I don't see why it's so unimaginable that someone who is winning votes for a leadership election wouldn't also win votes in a general election. I think he'd bring in a lot of voters who were turned off by Blair's general sliminess and short-sighted plundering.
At worst he'd bring some humanity back to the commons as opposition leader.

Harold McMillan once said the parties don't win elections so much as governments lose them. This is what has tended to happen too. Governments get re-elected and then eventually run out of steam. I can see the Tories getting in again but with Osborne at the helm the electorate will be fed up with the same old faces and he will be one Parliament PM like Gordon Brown.
